Job Summary of Freight Merchandise Associate:

Responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience demonstrated by engaging and interacting with all customers, embodying customer experience principals and philosophy, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Adheres to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards. May be cross-trained to work in multiple areas of the store in order to support the needs of the business.

  • Carries out customer purchase and return transactions following prescribed operational procedures with precision
  • Encourages the promotion of credit and loyalty programs as part of customer interactions
  • Adheres to the set procedures and standards in accordance with the merchandising philosophy
  • Skillfully processes and preps merchandise for display on the sales floor according to company protocols and standards
  • Initiates and engages in store recovery as necessary throughout the day
  • Maintains the required organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales space and contributes to the cleanliness maintenance of the whole store
  • Gives and acknowledges regular appreciation and constructive input
  • Adheres to labor laws, regulations, and procedural requirements
  • Supports and actively engages in store programs designed to reduce shrinkage
  • Engages in activities that advocate for safety awareness and the establishment of a safe environment
  • Executes supplementary tasks as assigned
